Looking for a really rewarding new job? Are you confident but kind, flexible and friendly with a good sense of humour?

We support individuals with a condition called Korsakoff's Syndrome. The people we support are mostly in their 40s and 50s, have short term memory problems but are otherwise very active, outgoing and sociable.

On a day-to-day basis your role will include prompting, supporting and sometimes assisting the currently resident clients with their daily living skills, from hoovering their room and personal care, to going to the local shop. You will be expected to supervise and assist with preparing breakfast, lunch and supper. You will be responsible for supporting a small group of clients each day to manage laundry, keep their rooms clean and tidy and perform basic household tasks. You will also be responsible for some other household duties. Once you have mastered the basics, you will be trained to administer medication, go out with the clients to appointments, go shopping, for walks, to the library - all the things that are part of 'normal' life.

Good spoken and written communication skills and a great sense of humour essential as is a full UK driving licence and having a basic knowledge of computers.

Previous experience with a similar client group plus relevant qualifications an advantage but not essential as full training provided. You should be willing to work variable shifts, including alternate weekends. Shifts are normally a mix of short (6 hours) and long (12 hours) shifts. The day shift begins at 8am.

We support all staff with their personal career development, offering a full training package and regular opportunities for promotion and additional responsibilities. In addition, we offer a benefits package including 5.6 weeks’ paid holiday, private healthcare scheme, childcare voucher scheme and much more. Position available for 36 or 48 hours (3 or 4 days per week), immediate start (subject to checks) available.

If you believe you have the skills, personality and drive for this role then please apply via this website and we will get in touch with you.
