Elizabeth House & Roberta House, UpstreetResidential care and re-ablement for adults with Wernicke-Korsakoff's Syndrome, acquired brain injury, ARBD (Alcohol-Related Brain Damage) and other related conditions. Roberta House is the sister home to Elizabeth House, 200 yards down the road in the same village. Both houses share the same team of carers and management, ensuring high standards of care for all clients. Currently registered with CQC for the provision of residential care for individuals with dementia (Korsakov's syndrome predominantly), mental disorders and past or present alcohol dependence, Roberta House is a slightly quieter version of its sister home and our clients at Roberta House tend to be slightly more independent than those at Elizabeth House. The care provision is exactly the same but the facilities differ slightly. We provide short and long term rehabilitation and residential care services for 16 clients at Roberta House. Our Pathways Units. providing support and more intensive life skills coaching for 3 clients who are more independent and need to practice their independent living skills before stepping back out into the wider community, opened in autumn 2010. Services and care at Roberta House & Elizabeth House are both holistic and tailored to meet each client's specific needs. Our philosophy is that all our clients have the potential to progress, no matter what their condition and background. Our goal is to promote independence and self-esteem in our clients within the framework of a pluralist and holistic approach to care and therapy. Each client's care programme focuses on living skills (both personal and household), social skills development, active therapy and vocational training and support. We strongly encourage links with the wider community and assist our clients to build and maintain family links which they have often lost.
